Okay, we’re into the second week in January. I’m excited but I’m still repeating….Is it really 2016?
It seems like yesterday when we welcomed the New Year of 2015.
It’s ALWAYS so odd to me just how quickly the months pass into another year.
At the start of each year, there is something that I’ve come to embrace as I reflect upon the previous year.
I don’t know about you but I haven’t lived a full twelve months, in any year, in total bliss, free of any issues.
I’ve had some good years but they weren’t without a few hurdles or lessons learned.
Throughout each year, I experience both lows and highs but I realize that God’s grace and love is like an undercurrent that flows beneath me.
It never ceases and sustains in the shifting seasons of my life.
In good times, I can rejoice and in tough times, I can rest. (Rest is something I’ve come to experience in my now years)
I live through the moments but overall, everything balances to reveal a beautiful lifescape with God at the center.
With confidence, I believe and speak Romans 8:28 –And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.(NLT)
It’s not a casual response that I give when it seems appropriate. It’s what I have experienced and know deep within.
When I compare the favor & blessings to the challenges and trials of each year, I can only thank God because all of it comes back to Him.
It’s as though I can replay the events of my previous year in my mind and come to a final place of saying, “It is well”.
I understand it and I embrace it.
Regardless of what a year brings across our path, we can continue to be thankful and hopeful in the Lord Jesus Christ. Years pass and bring change to our lives but the Lord never changes. He remains the same year after year.
So tell me… How did your year end? Did you recognize God in your experiences throughout the year? When reflecting on the bigger picture, did everything balance with the good times and tough times? In all things, did you end the year with a thankful heart?
At times, I may look back to 2015 but I’m looking forward to Greater Things in 2016! I believe it will be an exceptional, extraordinary year. Together, let’s encourage one another to embrace each day and live out our best years starting NOW!
