Jamie Grace + Morgan = A Beautiful Day

Jamie Grace & Morgan

My girls absolutely adore Jamie Grace. You know… Jamie Grace, contemporary Christian musician, singer and songwriter. They love her music and style so much that I told the Lord that I wanted to plan for them to meet her in 2015. I set my goals for the upcoming year and figuring out a way for my girls to meet Jamie Grace was a priority. I didn’t know how or when but I made my request unto the Lord. It was my little secret between me and my Father.

Today, following church service, my husband sat at the table reading the newspaper. I came downstairs and he casually mentioned that Jamie Grace would be at the Forum today. He told me the time and I could feel my anticipation stirring. The girls had already changed out of the clothes they had worn to church but I told them to get their clothes back on because we had a surprise for them. At this point, I was excited and thought to myself, “God, will it really be today?”

We decided to take both cars because my husband had another stop later in the day.  During the drive, I was told that my youngest daughter asked Daddy to give her a hint about the surprise. Daddy’s response, “It’s a beautiful day” (the title of one of her popular songs).  The oldest began singing the lyrics of the song. Obviously, the hint didn’t click with them.

We arrived early (I made certain of that) to the location. As we stood outside waiting to enter, my oldest daughter noticed a sign referencing Jamie Grace appearance from 2 -4. The secret was out! Then, I heard my husband reading, “Bring a gently used household item or clothing for the Jamie Grace Foundation”.  OH NO!  With panic, I asked my husband if he recalled reading those details in the paper. My excitement was turning to distress.  We didn’t bring anything and I would feel horrible to walk in there with nothing to donate.

Suddenly, I remembered a box of items in the back of my car that I’ve been driving around with for over a month. My intentions were to drop them off for consignment. My “OH NO!” turned to “YES!” and I immediately rushed to my car to obtain the box. I couldn’t believe it! I mean, I really wanted to cry because God is always in the details. He is the Master of detailed orchestration. I thought to myself, “What if we didn’t drive two cars?” But I DID drive my car because it was part of God’s setup.

So the girls took pictures with Jamie Grace and her equally talented sister, Morgan.  We met their mother, father and publicist. I shared wonderful conversation with others who waited patiently in the very small and casual setting. There were no long lines or large crowds – just a divine setup. They are a beautiful, humble family and it was an amazing experience for Brooklyn & Bralyn! I told no one of my heart’s desire but God knew and made it possible much earlier than I had expected. I can only shake my head and feel in awe of God’s gracious blessings. Especially at this time of the year, we are so thankful for the gift of Jesus but I really believe the Lord wanted us to have an extra special Merry CHRISTmas.

Tracy what an AWESOME story!!! I’m not always able to respond to your post, but I enjoy reading them.

I tried to respond to your one the other day about Jerry, but could not for some reason. Anyway, I just wanted to say thank you for your past and present testimonies. They really are a testament of God’s love and faithfulness in good and bad times. At the end of the day God is so good and faithful, and does indeed care about the desires big and small of our heart.

Tracy, I am so glad God answered your prayers! This reminds me that He is in control of all things and we only need to let our request be known to Him. God is working things out behind the scenes! Your girls are blessed to have such a wonderful praying mother!
