I know that we hear this often and probably say it even more but I just have to say this again, “God is good!”
Publishers Clearing House hasn’t arrived at my door with flowers, balloons and a huge check with sweet zeros! I’m not free of life’s issues and all of my dreams haven’t manifested yet. But I’m speaking the Scripture of Psalms 34:1, “I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth”. It’s tough when things aren’t lining up in your life as expected or when it seems as though everything has gone awry. Yet, in the midst of everything –the good, the bad and the “whatever”, we need to give praise to Jesus because it is only by Him and His grace that we are here today.
Too often, we pattern our emotional well-being similar to the weather. How many of us live under these familiar conditions: sunny but partly cloudy, expecting a chance of some rain, dry with isolated showers, freezing temperatures below 40 degrees? If you think about it, it sounds so dismal and void of vitality. But as soon as we hear… sunny with temperatures in the high 80s, then we can’t wait to get outside to enjoy more favorable conditions. Well, life doesn’t always project the best forecast but despite the conditions on the outside, we can still have joy and praise on the inside. We can choose to wither or choose to worship. We can choose to remain in the cold or choose to find warmth in the Son! Regardless of our personal forecast, when we give God our worship and praise, it lets Him know that aside from everything, we love Him just because of who He is and we will continue to bless Him.
I don’t know where you are in your life but I do know where God wants you to be—under His umbrella of love, strength and comfort. He wants you to believe that with dark clouds & pouring rain, the Son still shines! In the midst of everything, take some time today to just call on Jesus. That name alone can bring peace to your mind and soul. Invite Him into your presence and begin to worship Him with your whole heart. Listen to some Praise and Worship music and just begin to meditate on His goodness. If you allow a time of intimacy between you and the Lord, you will feel His strength instead of your weakness. For that moment, the former worries will seem to fade away and God will refresh and equip you to press through a little further. It’s your time with the Father. Embrace it. Love on Jesus and allow Him to love on you.
Very good post, and yes God is good! I may have cloudy conditions, but I know the “SON” shineth !!!!
Amen!
